MEMBERSHIP FORMAT AND USAGE
Bateleur Club membership is based on the purchase of points, which members can then use to pay for their travel arrangements, from accommodation to transport and activities.
A minimum purchase of 1 500 points, valued at R36 000, is necessary to become a member. Once purchased, points remain valid for a period of two years.
At the time of their first points purchase, members are issued with points guides, each of which is valid for a year. These guides set out the number of points that members will need to spend to pay for accommodation at the various lodges and hotels that are part of Bateleur Club, as well as for transport costs or activities. These points will vary according to the lodge or hotel selected, as well as the time of year. Certain times of year offer far more favourable rates than others. Members are free to browse through their points guides to identify these times and plan their travel accordingly, but they can also choose to travel at any other time at the rate that is valid for that destination and month.
A dedicated Bateleur Club reservations team is on hand to provide advice and carry out members’ travel reservations. Once members have decided where and when they would like to travel and their reservation has been confirmed, the points required for that reservation will be deducted from their total Bateleur Club points.
When members have used up all their Bateleur Club points, they are welcome to purchase more, starting from the minimum purchase amount of 1 500 points once again.
